How Jet Engines Work?

Many of you must have wondered at sometime or the other, how does a plane fly. And you must have got an answer, the plane flies with the help of a jet engine. Have you ever wondered how does the jet engine work and flies the big aeroplane to far off distances at great speed. The jet engine is one of the most advance innovations of mankind that has helped in flying and became a game changer. It provided a big boost to the aviation industry. Now people can reach far greater distances in much lesser time. It has also made flying safe, comfortable and a good experience.

As you know birds fly by pushing air. Mankind has developed machines that mimics this action,  that push air; but one of the greatest machines that push air is the jet engine.  Jet engine suck air in the front and push a jet of air out at the back. That force is called thrust and it moves an airplane through the sky.

It works on a principle - simply put, a big fan at the front of the engine pulls air around the engine and sucks air into the core. The air in the core goes into a compressor something like many household fans join together each fan gets smaller and smaller because the blades squeeze the air into a tighter and tighter space compressing it there. Like you would squeeze a balloon until that squeezed air is mixed with jet fuel, a kind of super gasoline in the combustor that air and fuel mix, a flame fires out the back of the engine and the rush of hot air spin the turbine and the  turbine is like a windmill that scoops up energy from the heated air and spins the shaft connected to the fan at the front of the engine, the excess hot air from the combustor blows out from the back of the engine producing thrust.

Airplane wings are shaped to make air move faster over the top of the wing. When air moves faster, the pressure of the air decreases. So the pressure on the top of the wing is less than the pressure on the bottom of the wing. The difference in pressure creates a force on the wing that lifts the wing up into the air. The plane's engines are designed to move it forward at high speed. That makes air flow rapidly over the wings, which throw the air down toward the ground, generating an upward force called lift that overcomes the plane's weight and holds it in the sky. The wings force the air downward and that pushes the plane upward.

The key difference between jets and propeller planes is that jets produce thrust through the discharge of gas instead of powering a drive shaft linked to a propeller. This allows jets to fly faster and at higher altitudes. All jet engines, which are also called gas turbines, work on the same principle. The engine sucks air in at the front with a fan. The blades spin at high speed and compress or squeeze the air. The compressed air is then sprayed with fuel and an electric spark lights the mixture. All jet engines, which are also called gas turbines, work on the same principle. The engine sucks air in at the front with a fan. The burning gases expand and blast out through the nozzle, at the back of the engine. As the jets of gas shoot backward, the engine and the aircraft are thrust forward.

At any given moment, there are something like 5,000 flights zipping through the sky over the United States alone and similarly around the world; we're so used to the idea of flight that we barely even notice all the planes screaming above us, hauling hundreds of people at a time to their homes and holidays. Most modern planes are powered by jet engines. What exactly are these magic machines and what makes them different from the engines used in cars or trucks?

A jet engine is a type of reaction engine discharging a fast-moving jet that generates thrust by jet propulsion. While this broad definition can include rocket, water jet, and hybrid propulsion, the term jet engine typically refers to an air-breathing jet engine such as a turbojet, turbofan, ramjet, or pulse jet. In general, jet engines are internal combustion engines.

Air-breathing jet engines typically feature a rotating air compressor powered by a turbine, with the leftover power providing thrust through the propelling nozzle - this process is known as the Brayton thermodynamic cycle. Jet aircraft use such engines for long-distance travel. Early jet aircraft used turbojet engines that were relatively inefficient for subsonic flight. Most modern subsonic jet aircraft use more complex high-bypass turbofan engines. They give higher speed and greater fuel efficiency than piston and propeller aero-engines over long distances. A few air-breathing engines made for high speed applications (ramjets and scramjets) use the ram effect of the vehicle's speed instead of a mechanical compressor.

The thrust of a typical jetliner engine went from 5,000 lbf (22,000 N) (de Havilland Ghost turbojet) in the 1950s to 115,000 lbf (510,000 N) (General Electric GE90 turbofan) in the 1990s, and their reliability went from 40 in-flight shutdowns per 100,000 engine flight hours to less than 1 per 100,000 in the late 1990s. This, combined with greatly decreased fuel consumption, permitted routine transatlantic flight by twin-engined airliners by the turn of the century, where previously a similar journey would have required multiple fuel stops.

The combustion efficiency of most aircraft gas turbine engines at sea level takeoff conditions is almost 100%. It decreases to nearly to 98% at altitude cruise conditions. For any type of combustion chamber there is a rich and weak limit to the air-fuel ratio, beyond which the flame is extinguished. Passenger aircraft fly at a good speed, Commercial jet aircraft cruise at about 400 – 500 knots (460 – 575 mph / 740 – 930 kph). The speed of a private jet ranges from 400 to 711 miles per hour. When compared to a commercial airliner with top speeds just over 500 miles per hour, it is easy to decide that a private jet is the speediest aircraft to get you from here to there.

In fact, modern planes are designed to be able to glide for long distances without using engines. Even if every engine fails, the plane should still be able to glide to a landing spot. There's no set time limit on how long a plane can fly with one engine as long as you have fuel.

The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird is the fastest jet aircraft in the world, reaching speeds of Mach 3.3, that's more than 3,500 kph (2,100 mph) and almost four times as fast as the average cruising speed of a commercial airliner. Key elements of the SR-71's design made this possible. Depending on the seat layout, the plane can carry as many as about 850 passengers, but the typical is closer to around 575. The plane entered commercial service in 2007, representing Airbus' gamble that a "hub-and-spoke" model would be the future of commercial air travel.

The ‘sweet spot’ of flying is regarded as between 35,000 and 42,000 feet – too high and the oxygen becomes too sparse to fuel the engines, too low and the air resistance is greater. This optimum height is linked to the usual weight of a commercial jet – that is, heavier planes fly lower, and lighter higher.

Airline engines (for example the Rolls Royce Trent series) usually have TBOs of over 15000 hours. The record for maximum time for an engine on wing (use in aircraft before removal for overhaul) is well over 40,000 hours. The life of an engine is given by the manufacturer and are different for different engines. It may take up to 2 months to complete, and is usually only performed 2 to 3 times per aircraft lifetime, as it is performed every 6 to 10 years. Often, airlines will opt to scrap, or sell off, older aircraft that are nearing their ‘D’ checks, simply because of the ridiculous amount of time, people and money required.

Generally, there are no scheduled oil changes for jet engines. During engine maintenance, however, oil filters and seals are checked and changed if necessary. Typical ‘top-ups’ are done on a daily basis, so jet engines always have some fresh oil but rarely need a complete oil change. The three items needed to keep a jet engine operating are fuel, air, and a source of heat to make them burn. While rain can have an influence on the function of a jet engine, but does not have a significant effect. The majority of storms produce light rain or snow that has little if any impact on an engine.

In an emergency, the aircraft will glide perfectly well even if all its engines fail. If both engines fail, the aeroplane is no longer being pushed forward, therefore in order to keep the air flowing over the wings, the aircraft must exchange energy through losing altitude to maintain forward airspeed. Jet engines are expensive. They are highly optimized machines containing thousands of parts. The parts used are made of expensive, exotic materials, which are often very expensive. The  engine has to be assembled by skilled mechanics over many hours.

Gas turbine aircraft engines such as turbojets, turboshafts and turbofans often use air/pneumatic starting, with the use of bleed air from built-in auxiliary power units (APUs) or external air compressors now seen as a common starting method. Often only one engine needs be started using the APU (or remote compressor). The compressed kerosene-air mixture then ignites, after which the motor then operates independently. This operation is carried out for each engine, generally one after the other, and takes about one minute. This jet engine automatic start procedure is the most common.

Who makes the best jet engines in the world? - General Electric. GE Aviation, part of the General Electric conglomerate, currently has the largest share of the turbofan engine market. Next is Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, CFM International, Engine Alliance, International Aero Engines,Williams International and Honeywell Aerospace.

Jet fuels are typically made by blending and refining various crude oil petroleum distillation products such as naphtha, gasoline, or kerosene in order to meet specific military or commercial specifications (Air Force 1989b).

One of the first engine makers Pratt and Whitney recently designed a new jet engine that lets the fan push air more slowly than the turbine by putting an amazing gear between them, Pratt & Whitney called this the pure power engine because it uses less fuel and makes more thrust at the same time with less fuel, saving money and cuts back on pollution which is better for the environment and all living things and when the fan moves slowly the noise drops so much you can barely hear the airplane in the sky it's a new design for jet engines and a new era for jet airplanes that we all can enjoy.

Ancient caves in Mumbai:

In the western suburb of Mumbai, on the outskirts, are the Kanheri caves, which date back to more than 2,000 years. The caves – 140 in total are in good condition, all carved out of a single black rock, contain many ancient Buddhist sculptures, carvings, paintings and inscriptions dating from 1st century BCE to 10 th century CE.

The Kanheri Caves are a group of rock-cut monuments formed from a massive basalt rock in the forests of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park on the western outskirts of Mumbai. They contain Buddhist sculptures and relief carvings, paintings and inscriptions. Kanheri comes from the Sanskrit name, Krishnagiri, which means, black mountain. Each cave has a stone plinth that functioned as a bed. A congregation hall with huge stone pillars contains a stupa (a Buddhist shrine). Rock-cut channels above the caves fed rainwater into cisterns, which provided the complex with water. Once the caves were converted to permanent monasteries, their walls were carved with intricate reliefs of Buddha and the Bodhisattvas. Kanheri had become an important Buddhist settlement on the Konkan coast by the 3rd century CE. Most of the caves were used as the Buddhist viharas, meant for living, studying and meditating. The larger caves, functioned as chaitvas, or halls for congregational worship. The Avalokiteshwara is the most distinctive figure.

Vastu wise homes!

Firstcry      Tanishq      Ajio

Vastu Shastra is a science developed in ancient India to to help design homes and structures that emit positive energy, which in turn brings peace, happiness, healthier life and prosperity to the people residing in those homes and structures. It takes into account numerous factors like the location, environment and specific directions for the entrance, living room, bedroom, prayer room, kitchen, bathroom, etc while construction of a house. Presently Vastu is once again in focus as most people  buying property, land or build a house as per Vastu. And many Vastu practitioners and consultants are busy advising people and doing well.

As per ancient Hindu tradition and belief, Vastu Shastra compliant homes emit positive energy which brings goodness to the people living in the home. Vastu Shastra may not be essential for living, but it is helpful for a better and healthier life. It is the science of environment you live in. How important is Vastu Shastra for human can be gauged from the importance of Brahmasthan in Home/Property. Presently, again many people are looking for good Vastu for a positive home. For a house to become a home, it needs to radiate the right kind of positive energy. According to a number of traditional beliefs, each home comes with its own energy type. A person dwelling in a house comes under the influence of a specific energy field, which in turn influences him in one way or the other. Therefore it’s very crucial to understand the link between the healing art of Vastu and our homes by bringing in positivity and good vibes. Keeping in mind the ready-to-move-in houses or apartments where structural changes are not possible, Vastu experts recommend ways you can bring balance to your home with remedial measures as prescribed in Vastu Shastra.

Vastu Shastra prescribes the East, North and Northeast as the most favourable directions that your house should face. However, there's more to it than just blindly setting the house to face one of these directions.

It can bring in health, wealth and prosperity if supported by other Vastu rules. Only thing that the main male member of the house may remain out of the house for a longer time if the door faces west and a female if the door faces North. Normally doors facing East, North, North East are said to be good doors.

According to Vastu, the entrance should ideally face the north, northeast, east, or west, as these facilitates prosperity. If you have to place the main entrance facing south, ensure to correct the Vastu by placing a pyramid or helix. The door should open inwards in the clockwise direction.

It's a common myth that west-facing homes are not as auspicious as north and east-facing homes. However, according to Vastu Shastra, all homes are considered equally auspicious, and there is no such thing that west-facing homes are not as good as north or east-facing homes.

The direction of the main entrance as per Vastu, is the most important aspect, while taking a rental home. The best entry is north-east, followed by north-west, east. North and west-facing homes are also considered good. Avoid homes with south, south-east and south-west entries.

According to Vastu Shastra, east, north and north-east-facing homes are most auspicious. However, this is not the sole determinant for the entry of positive energy into your household. The north direction is dedicated to Kuber, the God of wealth and going by this logic, north-facing homes should have been most popular.

How to know the direction of your house – First, Stand at the entrance door of your home facing outside (as if you're going out of your home). Next: Record the direction you are facing, using a compass, while you are in the position of going out. and there you are, the direction that you have just noted, is the direction your house faces.

Locate the safety locker at the South wall facing the North. The door of the locker should preferably open to the North, which is the direction of 'Kubera' (God of Wealth) as per Vastu. Do not place the locker in North-East corner as it would cause loss of wealth.

People seeking happiness, peace and prosperity in life should consider placing an idol of a white Ganesha at home. Sticking photos of white Ganesha would be equally helpful. Similarly, those who desire self-growth should bring home a vermilion coloured Ganesha. This is considered auspicious according to Vastu. Lord Ganesha among the various powerful Hindu Gods is said to be the god of prosperity and wealth. Lord Ganesha is believed to bring good luck and thus he is worshiped before anything new is started. It is indeed very lucky to keep a Ganesha idol at home or at your workplace not only does it embellish the place but also attracts positive vibes wherever it is kept. Ganesha also known as 'Vighnaharta' is said to help us overcome any obstacles in the house or at workplace. The idol of God should never be placed in a temple or anywhere else in the house in such a way that its back part is not visible. The idol should be visible from the front. Looking at the back of God's idol is not considered auspicious.

Some colours bring positive energy to the living room. As per Vastu, white, light yellow, green and blue are the best choices for the living area as they bring in a tranquil vibe. Use these colours on their own or in a combination to maximize the positivity in the space.

Sea salt is very effective according to Vastu Shastra for a house. Placing small portions of uncrushed sea salt is an immediate remedy for Vastu dosh. It absorbs all the negative energy from home. Alternatively, you could also mix a pinch of sea salt in the water that you use to clean the floor.

Keeping portraits or photos of the dead  - This is normally done  to remember and show respect to the elders. But as per Vastu Shastra, is not considered auspicious. But as per Vastu Shastra, is not considered auspicious. Keeping portraits or photos of the dead in puja room, study or bedroom not only brings bad luck, but may also cost you your family's peace and prosperity.

What should be placed in front of main door? A clean house, especially the main entrance, attracts positive energy. Avoid keeping dustbins, broken chairs or stools, near the main door.

The recommended sleeping direction as per Vastu Shastra is that you lie down with your head pointed southward. A north-to-south body position is considered the worst direction.

Check whether there is any cut in the south west side of your house/plot or office. This indicates that the legs of Vastu Purush are missing. This problem may indicate instability in your personal and professional life. - Kitchen and toilets should not be located in the north or the north-east side of your plot.

The main door should be constructed in a way to ensure that when you step out, you face the north, east or north-east direction:

Considered as the “archway to victory and progress in life”, the main door should face north, east or in the north-east direction. It must be constructed in a way to ensure that when you step out, you face the north, east or north-east direction.

The main door to your home should be constructed with superior quality wood. It should tower above the other doors in your house, and look the most appealing.

Avoid placing a fountain, or any other decorative water-centric element, outside the main door.

Avoid placing a shoe rack or dustbin outside the main door.

There shouldn’t be a bathroom near the main door.

Ensure the main entrance is well lit.

Avoid painting the main door black.

Decorate your door with beautiful nameplates and auspicious torans.

Avoid placing animal statues or figurines near the main door.

Ensure your main door opens in a clockwise manner.

5 tips to transform the energy ratios in your bedroom to help positively influence your sleep:

Ideally, the bedroom in a south-west direction brings good health and prosperity. Avoid a bedroom in the north-east or south-east zone of the house as the former may cause health issues, while a bedroom placed in the latter direction may cause quarrels among couples. The bed should be placed in the southwest corner of the bedroom, with your head facing west.

Avoid placing a mirror or television in front of the bed. Your reflection must not be seen in a mirror when in bed as it causes fights and other domestic disruptions.

Paint your bedroom walls in neutral or earthy shades as it radiates positive energy. Avoid painting your walls black.

Avoid having a temple, paintings depicting water or a fountain in the bedroom as it could cause emotional outbursts.

Use mood lighting and burn aromatic oils to create an oasis of calm.

Vaastu wise – Kitchen

*Many people have temples in the kitchen: Although God is omni-present he should be given a sacred and serene place within the house. A kitchen is a fire area and hence a temple should never be there, or else it would lead to unexpected problems and unknown irritation among the inhabitants.

*Placing small things within the kitchen: We should never store medicines in the kitchen as it causes too much illness among the family members. Keeping keys in the kitchen takes away prosperity. Keeping money for petty expenses is also not good as it leads to increase in expenses.

*Gas stove in the kitchen: The best is to face the east while cooking as it offers a cool and peaceful nature to the lady of the house and even the food cooked excels in nutrition and goodness.

*A good strategy is to place the dustbin under the kitchen or bathroom sink and to leave it exposed as opposed to hiding it behind closet doors. This way it's easier to use it without having to constantly open and close the door.

Placing trash cans in the right direction is also important, according to Vastu. Here is a quick guide on that: The south-west, the west or the north-west are ideal directions to place garbage cans in the house.

Vaastu wise – Prayer Room

*The Mandir in the house should never be positioned next to a toilet, within a bedroom or kitchen or underneath the staircase. Care should be taken not to construct any structure above the prayer room or else, symbolically, you would end up stepping on it.

*The most Vastu compliant direction for a Prayer Room is the north-east as the sun’s first rays falls in this direction, makes it sacred and divine.

*Lord Ganesha’s pictures and idols are commonly seen placed on tiles and on top of the front entrance door or gate of the house. Vastu does not approve of this. The reason being, that Goddess Lakshmi’s sister, Daridata, meaning poverty, features on Ganesha’s back. Hence when placing Lord Ganesha’s image or idol with the back facing the house, he is inviting poverty and bad luck into his house.

*Fire is believed to be a powerful cosmic cleanser. It is advisable to burn earthen lamp and incense sticks morning and evening.

*As per Vastu, the best and most auspicious direction and place for the Puja room is the north-east corner of your house. If north-east placement is not feasible, it can be set up in the east or the west side of the house.

How to Attract Money into Your Home

Remove anything unnecessary or broken. Use colors like red, green and violet to attract prosperity. If your entrance isn't attractive, no one will visit, including prosperity. Make sure your kitchen is always clean. Remove any traces of clutter in your home. A warm bedroom. Don't flush it away.

The placement of the clock in a house is subject to Vastu and influences the life of the residents. The clock should not be fixed at the south, south-west and south-east parts of the house as it will seriously affect punctuality of the inmates. Ideal spots to place a clock are north and east.

What direction should a TV be placed? Ideally, the TV should be installed in the southeast corner of the living room. The north east or the south west directions are best avoided when it comes to placing your TV in the social space in the house so that the positive energies in the room are not blocked.

Where should one hang pictures of ancestors in the house? The best location to place pictures ideally with golden frame of ancestors is the South West corner or the South wall. Further, the bottom of the frame of the photograph should be above the height of the tallest person of the house or simply  above six feet  height.

Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameshwaram

Ramanathaswamy temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is a showpiece of architectural excellence built in the 17th century. It is located on Rameswaram island in Ramanathapuram District in the state of Tamil Nadu in south India. The temple is considered a holy pilgrimage centre for the Hindus – Shaivites, Vaishnavites and Smarthas. Here Shiva is worshiped in the form of a Jyotirlinga, meaning ‘Pillar of light.’ And this temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples all over India. Besides the temple is famous for the fact, it’s the southern most Jyotirlinga in India which makes it important and a top religious spot to visit.

Most people know Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram as the temple which has the longest corridor among all the temples in India. And this picture of corridors have become very popular because of its design, precise architecture and aesthetics. Rameswaram (also spelt as Ramesvaram, Rameshwaram) is a town and municipality in the Ramanathapuram district of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is on Pamban Island separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel and is about 40 kilometres from Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. It is in the Gulf of Mannar, at the tip of the Indian peninsula. Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, is connected to mainland India by the Pamban Bridge. Rameswaram is the terminus of the railway line from Chennai and Madurai. Together with Varanasi, it is considered to be one of the holiest places in India to Hindus, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimage which devote Hindus undertake once in their life-time.

It is written in the Ramayana that the divine King Rama built a bridge with Hanuman’s help from here across the sea to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from her abductor Ravana. The Ramanathaswamy Temple, dedicated to the Vedic god Shiva, is at the centre of the town and is closely associated with Rama. The temple and the town are considered a holy pilgrimage site for Shaivas. Rameswaram is the closest point from which to reach Sri Lanka from India, and geological evidence suggests that the Rama Sethu was a earlier land connection between India and Sri Lanka. Rameswaram is administered by a municipality established in 1994. The town covers an area of 53 Sq km and had a population of 44,856 as on 2011. Tourism and fisheries employ the majority of workforce in Rameswaram.

The Ramanathaswamy Temple is the most notable historic landmark of the town. Located in the centre of town, Ramanathaswamy Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. The temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines, where Shiva is worshiped in the form of a Jyotirlinga meaning 'pillar of light'. It is also one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalam temples and is glorified and remembered in hymns by  three of the most revered and popular Nayanar saints (7th century Saivite saints), Appar, Sundarar and Tirugnana Sambandar. The temple in its current structure was built during the 12th century by Pandya Dynasty. The temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India. The breadth of these columned corridors varies from 17 to 21 feet with a height of 25 feet. Each pillar is sculpted in Nayak style as in Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple.

The contribution of the kings of the Sethupathy dynasty (17th century) to the temple was considerable. Large amount of money was spent during the tenure of Pradani Muthirulappa Pillai towards the restoration of the pagodas which were falling into ruins – the Chockattan Mantapam or the cloistered precincts of the temple was reconstructed by him. The rulers of Sri Lanka contributed to the temple –Parakrama Bahu (1153–1186 CE) was involved in the construction of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple The eastern tower and shrine of Nataraja were built by Dalavai Sethupathy in 1649 CE. The second enclosure is ascribed to Chinna Udayar Sethupathy and his son Ragunatha Thirumalai (1500–1540 CE). The third enclosure was constructed by Muthu Ramalinga Sethupathy (1725–1771 CE) – his statue is located in the entrance of the corridor.

Rameswaram means ‘Lord of Rama’ in Sanskrit, an epithet of Shiva, the presiding deity of the Ramanathaswamy Temple. According to one of the versions of Ramayana, Rama, the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu, prayed to Shiva here to absolve any sins that he might have committed during his war against the demon-king Ravana in Sri Lanka. According to the Puranas (Hindu scriptures), upon the advice of sages, Rama along with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana, installed and worshipped the lingam (an iconic symbol of Shiva) here to expiate the sin of Brahmahatya incurred while killing of the Brahmin Ravana. To worship Shiva, Rama wanted to have a lingam and directed his trusted lieutenant Hanuman to bring it from Himalayas.

Since it took a long time  to bring the lingam, Sita built a lingam, made of  sand from the shores, which is also believed to be the one in the sanctum of the temple. Sethu Karai is a place 22 km before the island of Rameswaram from where Rama is believed to have built a floating stone bridge, the Ramsetu bridge, that further continued to Dhanushkodi in Rameswaram till Talaimannar in Sri Lanka. According to another version, as quoted in Adhyatma Ramayana, Rama installed the lingam before the construction of the bridge to Lanka. However, both Valmiki and KambaRamayana do not have any evidences about this Rameswaram story.

The history of Rameswaram is centered around the island being a transit point to reach Sri Lanka and the presence of Ramanathaswamy Temple. The Chola king Rajendra Chola I (1012 – 1040 CE) had a control of the town for a short period. The Jaffna kingdom (1215–1624 CE) had close connections with the island and claimed the title Setukavalan meaning custodians of the Rameswaram. Hinduism was their state religion and they made generous contribution to the temple. Setu was used in their coins as well as in inscriptions as marker of the dynasty.

During the early 15th century, the present day Ramanathapuram, Kamuthi and Rameswaram were included in the Pandya dynasty. In 1520 CE, the town came under the rule of Vijayanagara Empire. The Sethupathis, the breakaway from Madurai Nayaks, ruled Ramanathapuram and contributed to the Ramanathaswamy temple. The most notable of them are the contributions of Muthu Kumara Ragunatha and Muthu Ramalinga Sethupathi, who transformed the temple to an architectural ensemble.

As Rameshwaram is located in the southern part of India and hence the climate is on the tropical side. Ideally the best time to visit Rameshwaram will be from October to April as during this period, you will find the climate on the pleasant side. One must visit this place to see and experience the historical marvel.
