Window dressing is an art!

Celebration of the beautiful pleases our senses at the very first sight. Select a timeless design, texture, material and colour combination for the curtains, and get an evergreen interesting look. This will add a touch of glamour to your interior and room furnishing. This is true window dressing.

Can you imagine your homes without curtain, no matter how much you paint or furnish your home; without curtains, the room is not complete, it looks bare, shabby and dull. Curtain adds the beauty to your home. Selection of the right curtain makes a big difference for the overall look of your home. It makes your house look more elegant.

Window is the open space to the outside world from inside your home. And window dressing is the key to perk up your home. It’s that important element that connects the interior of your home to the outdoors. Whether it adds perspective by enhancing the flow of light, increases the illusion of space or provides privacy to a home, windows hugely impact the overall vibe of a home. With more options available today, selecting the right dressing or curtains for your windows can be a daunting task. If you get the combination right, matching the interior and wall colour, it is the easiest and a creative way to transform your space and add elegance to the windows and the rooms, thereby making the room look homely.

Window dressing or curtains should be planned as per the space available and as per the dimensions of the window. If you want to add character to a room, window dressing plays a major part in achieving this. Take your pick among white hues – from sheer curtains or drapes for an ethereal look. The right balance between light and privacy is an ideal situation.

When it comes to choosing the right curtains for your space, there are many options of fabrics, finishes, colours and curtain rods. Good curtains aren’t cheap either, so It is good to plan and get the right ones for your rooms as they may be expensive to replace if they are not up to the mark.

Different types of curtains –
*Box Pleated curtains give a tailored look and drape deep folds down the full length of the curtain.
*Cased Heading curtains, also known as Rod pocket curtains.
*Pinch Pleated curtain
*Eyelet curtains
*Tailored Pleat curtains
*Goblet Pleat curtains
*Tab Top curtains
*Sheer curtains

Sheer curtains are perfectly suited for Indian homes, given our hot and humid weather. Made of linen, polyester or poly-cotton blend, the lightweight texture allows a subtle inflow of light, yet provides the privacy. These curtains can be paired with thicker drapes to add character to a space. They are highly functional with the ability to filter and diffuse light during the day while retaining privacy. Depending on your privacy, light-control needs and style preferences, a sheer curtain can stand alone or act as a layer under heavier or thicker drapery.

A sheer curtain is the type that allows the most light through the fabric, which also means it offers some privacy. Sheer curtains are also paired with opaque drapes for a more formal look, as well as additional privacy after dark. In some cases, the short sheer curtain that covers only the bottom half of a window over a kitchen platform is also a good option.

A good and right combination of sheer curtain and thicker drapery gives a nice cosy look to the house and the room in particular. Not only it provides privacy but allows controlled light into the room. Now a days you have big choice of design, texture and fabric material to choose from.

*You too can design your home.
